Marquette Community Multi-Jurisdictional Recreational Authority Feasibility Study
Recreational activities are widely recognized as central to the identity of the greater Marquette community, contributing to the quality of life for residents and serving as a main attraction to the region for visitors. The goal of the feasibility study has been to determine if and how the City of Marquette, Marquette Charter Township and Chocolay Township can better work together to provide for community-wide recreational needs.
The Diabetes - PATH program is a six-week workshop that is sponsored by UPCAP and Diabetes Outreach Network. It will be offered at the Chocolay Township Hall on Monday afternoons from May 5 through June 9. Click here for more information.

Weight Restriction and Garbage Collection
WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS AND GARBAGE COLLECTION.
This year the Road Commission has granted our solid waste collection contractor permission to continue to pull the trailers for the recycling, but only during night time hours when road bases are usually frozen. To comply with this restriction, Great American Disposal has been granted permission by the Township to change collection hours during weight restrictions.
Effective the week of March 31, Great American Disposal plans to start collection on the current routes at 3:00 AM and be completed before morning thaws occur. The collection days would not change, but residents would need to place their garbage and recyclables roadside on the evening before their regular collection day until restrictions are lifted.
The Road Commission will be implementing road restrictions in Marquette County beginning on Saturday, March 29 at 8:00 AM. You can visit the County Road Commission of Michigan website for daily updates by county: www.micountyroads.org/weight.php
